Precision Barrel Life Tracker

Privacy Policy

Effective: May 16, 2026  ·  Last updated: May 16, 2026

Tight Bore LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BORELY mobile application and the GROUPLY group measurement feature. This Privacy Policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Data Storage

All barrel data, session logs, load libraries, caliber configurations, cleaning records, CBTO readings, and user preferences are stored locally on your device using the browser's localStorage API within a WKWebView container. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your barrel or shooting data.

Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly initiate an export (CSV, PDF, or barrel transfer pack) or use the device share sheet to send a file.

2. Location Data

When you tap "Get Current Conditions Near Your Location" in the session log, the app requests your device's GPS coordinates through the standard iOS location permission prompt. These coordinates are used solely to:

Your GPS coordinates are sent directly from your device to the NWS API. They are not transmitted to Tight Bore LLC and are not stored by the app beyond the session in which they are used. The derived city and state name (e.g., "Georgiana, AL") is saved with the session record on your device.

Location access is entirely optional and user-initiated.

3. Photo Data

When using the GROUPLY group measurement feature, target photos are processed entirely on your device. Photos are not uploaded to any server. If you choose to save a GROUPLY result to a session, the annotated image is stored locally as part of that session's data.

4. Third-Party Services

The app communicates with exactly one external service:

The app does not use analytics services, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or any other third-party tracking or data collection tools.

5. In-App Purchases

BORELY uses Apple's StoreKit framework for in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. Tight Bore LLC does not receive, process, or store any payment card information, Apple ID credentials, or billing details. Apple's privacy practices are described at apple.com/privacy.

6. Data Export & Transfer

You may export your data at any time via CSV, PDF, or barrel transfer pack. Exported files are generated on your device and shared through the iOS share sheet. We have no access to exported files once they leave your device.

Barrel transfer packs (.borely.json) contain the barrel's full session history and are intended for sharing with another BORELY user. The contents of a transfer pack are determined by the data you have recorded and are not modified, filtered, or transmitted through our systems.

7. Future: Anonymous Data Aggregation

A future version of BORELY may offer an opt-in feature allowing you to contribute anonymized barrel data to a community dataset. If implemented, this feature will:

This feature does not exist in the current version of BORELY. This section is included for transparency about our roadmap. A revised privacy policy will be published before any data aggregation feature is released, and your explicit consent will be required before any data is contributed.

8. Children's Privacy

BORELY is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
